What happens to South Florida teachers if the school tax fails?
Voters in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach decide on November 3 whether to renew a one mill school property tax for four more years. The Miami Times reports that if it fails, Miami-Dade schools could lose about $500 million and teacher pay could fall from $73,030 to $57,814, and Broward could lose about $358 million a year.
