Our mission is to make sure Black communities are not simply informed about the decisions shaping our future, but equipped to help make those decisions. An informed community is a powerful community.

White Stadium sits in Franklin Park, the large park bordered by Roxbury, Dorchester and Jamaica Plain, and it has long been the home field for Boston Public Schools track and football. The city is rebuilding it with Boston Legacy FC, a new National Women's Soccer League team. When the work is done the team can use the stadium for up to 20 games and 20 practices a year, and the schools and the community have it the rest of the year.
The cost has grown. The rebuild is now about $325 million, with the team paying about $190 million and the city about $135 million from its capital budget, nearly three times what the city estimated two years earlier. Supporters say students get a modern stadium paid for largely with private money. The Emerald Necklace Conservancy and residents of the neighborhoods around the park sued, calling it a private use of public parkland, and neighbors have raised concerns about cost, parking, traffic and rising rents. In August 2026 the state's highest court ruled for the city, and construction continues.
The Council votes on the city's capital budget each June, and it has asked the administration again and again for cost and impact information. Here is every Council vote on the stadium and how each councilor voted.

Every figure on this page shows the year it describes. Public agencies release their numbers on their own schedules, often a year or more after the work of counting is done. The Census Bureau, for example, publishes its five year community survey each December, and the national reading test is given every two years. That is why some figures are not from this year. SourceLine updates each one as soon as the agency publishes it.
For some counties and small towns, SourceLine has not found meeting records online. Where it has not, we add them as they become available. A page that says SourceLine hasn’t updated a record yet means exactly that.
